Recognition Programs
Designation Professional designation is a means of recognising and promoting members on-going development as a speaker. Criteria for these designations relate to the speakers ability to command the attention of an audience, and to the skills and knowledge involved in running a speaking business.
When you first join NSAA you become an Associate. You can then progress through three levels of accreditation: Member, Professional Member and Certified Speaking Professional. You move through each designation level by attaining certain eligibility criteria. Each level of designation comes with more benefits. Experienced speakers who join NSAA are able to fast-track the process and go straight to CSP if they fit the criteria.
Awards Program
National awards recognise both the contributions and achievements of our members. Awards identify key achievers in the Association and set them up as role models for other members. Annual awards include Keynote Presenter Award for Excellence, Educator Award for Excellence, The Nevin Award for contribution to the Association and the Meeting Planner of the Year in recognition of the events industry to which the speaking industry is closely linked. These are presented at the Awards night at the Annual Convention
Kerrie Nairn Scholarship
A scholarship is presented each year to an emerging professional speaker member who can demonstrate their ability to be a great ambassador for NSAA and who is commitment to developing the speaking skills of young people. The Scholarship of worth $10,000 is presented to the recipient to enable them to further develop the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the professional speaking industry, and to enable them to help develop the speaking skills of young people. The Kerrie Nairn Scholarship is presented at the Annual Convention
Connections
Networking Opportunities
Every National Speakers event provides a networking opportunity and the chance to develop strategic alliances and speaking referral networks. The more events you attend the stronger these opportunities become.
Friendship and Collegiality with Like-Minded People
Speakers are renowned for being ‘upbeat’ and this makes sense as our job is to help people feel and perform better. Great friendships are built at NSAA and the Association gives members a network of like-minded colleagues who provide social, emotional and tactical support.
Rub Shoulders with the Best in the Business
NSAA is home to some of Australia’s leading speakers and learning practitioners. It is quite possible that you could be at an NSAA event and end up sitting next to cricket legend Max Walker or sharing a coffee (or perhaps a beer) with body language guru Alan Pease.
Leadership Opportunities Successful speakers are aware that personal growth is essential for becoming a better speaker. NSAA provides opportunities for members to experience strong personal growth and development by participating in leadership roles at both a State Chapter and National level.
The Spirit of NSAA
The National Speakers Association of Australia is famous for the generosity of its members towards helping each other achieve speaking excellence. Those who have been in the Association for a number of years know just how strong the Spirit of NSAA is, and of the intangible benefits it brings both personally and professionally. We encourage you to enjoy the Spirit of NSAA.
